Story Format and Supporting Software

Inform was originally created in 1993 by Graham Nelson and can generate programs designed for the Z-code or Glulx virtual machines. In 2006, Inform 7 was released as a new language based on principles of natural language and with a new set of tools based around a book-publishing metaphor.

Story Concept

  1. The story is about the actual founding of the future Maple Grove by Joseph Henderson the grandson of Jakob Henderson.
  2. This story begins at a location on a small dirt road. He has been traveling on his land holdings all morning and has stopped at a beautiful site with access to the river and a stand of good timber. The open meadow is large and would need little work to build a homestead and small farm.
  3. As he walks the area he sees a small cabin and investigates. Here he meets a squatter named Frenchy LaRoach and his woman (unnamed).
